A must do high end attraction (especially if you like a ‘dram’)
Ad Gefrin的点评
点评：I’d read a lot about this place and was keen to visit. My wife bought us vouchers for a tour and lunch as a present and we duly booked a slot one Saturday morning.
Ad Gefrin is a ‘high end’ attraction from the start. Internally, the building is impressive and well designed to draw you back to ancient Northumbria. The distillery tour takes about 90min and was easily the best I’ve done. Weekends are ‘non-production’ days but even so, it was so informative, entertaining and with some nice modern av displays too. The highlight is the tasting room. The whiskies and gin are fabulous but the room itself and bespoke soundtrack and videos are terrific too.
I’ll not review the restaurant here but it’s tasty food in a nice room (outside seating too). You can visit the restaurant separately if you like.
Tour-wise, I think the museum - which you go around yourself - could be made more. Interesting though it was, it doesn’t really explain Northumbria and Ad Gefrin’s origin unless you have a little previous knowledge - but maybe that’s not a concern for most visitors.
Ad Gefrin is a must do in this part of Northumberland and if you combine it with nearby Ford & Etal, you can make a great trip.
