Gorgeous nature reserve, lovely cafe
The Blue Pool的点评
点评：What a stunning place! We were visiting Dorset in a week which was not blessed with an excellent weather forecast, but we got lucky with one unexpectedly beautiful day and the Blue Pool was a wonderful place to spend it. The pool really is an incredible blue/green depending on how the light catches it. There are several lovely trails to follow, including right around the edge of the pool and off into the surrounding woodland. Though we are grown adults we adored the fairy door trail and just the sheer peace and quiet around the site. For families, as well as the fairy doors there is a really nice woodland play area. The rope bridge is also great fun, though not for those with a fear of heights!
After a good walk following all the various trails, we stopped at the cafe for a cream tea which was delicious and reasonably priced. We were joined for our tea by a very persistent peacock who was ready and willing to gobble up any crumbs we might drop! Very handsome chap and not at all shy.
All in all we had the most amazing visit which exceeded our expectations. I am really surprised by comments that say it's too expensive. While the gift shop was a little on the pricey side, entry to the site is really extremely reasonable given the amount of work it must take to maintain it. I could have spent all day here happily wandering, sitting, relaxing. If I lived nearby I would have bought an annual pass there and then; as it is, I am travelling back down to the area in September and 100% will be visiting again.
