点评：How delightful! We reserved a table on the Wine and Cheese excursion in post-Christmas December 2024. We had a delightful trip. The train cars are beautifully restored, and sparkling clean. Each table was decorated with a potted faux poinsettia. The ceiling was strung with holiday garland. The trip was about 90 minutes in total, and traveled through the farmland and woods of Salem County, NJ. We saw farm animals (goats, cows) as well as wildlife (bald eagles). The train staff (conductors and ticket people) were so helpful and kind. We brought our own beverages, although there were soft drinks and snacks available for purchase. As it was a wine (BYO or purchase) and cheese excursion, we were provided a lovely charcuterie board with grapes, cheese, crackers, and cured meats. At the end of the line is a Y switch (I’m sure I’ve used the wrong term) that allows the engine to move to the other end of the train to pull us back to the station. The announcement said this was unique, or unusual feature, so I made a point to look it up when I returned home.
We will happily go back again for a trip in fall (foliage), or spring (green sprouts).
Recommended for adults or children. Note that there are 4 or 5 steps to get into the train car from the platform. There are hand rails, a conductor, and a box to step up on, but someone truly mobility challenged would have difficulty with access.
