At about 268 meters (around 880 feet) high, it offers exactly the breathtaking panoramic views over the golden beach, the turquoise Tyrrhenian Sea, the colorful rooftops of the old town, and the iconic Norman Cathedral.
Many visitors say the views are among the most spectacular in Sicily — especially at sunset, when the town and sea glow in golden and pink light. There are also ruins to explore: the remains of a medieval Norman castle (with defensive walls).
The hike itself is moderate but rewarding — a mix of stairs at the start, then a winding, sometimes rocky/gravel path. The elevation change constantly.
