点评：Visiting the Ken Hoehn Gallery was one of the highlights of my trip to Canmore, and I left with three stunning pieces that I couldn't bear to leave behind: "See Love Dancing in the Light", "Wonder", and "A Family in the Woods". Each one is utterly breathtaking, and they've completely transformed the walls of my home.
What made the visit truly unforgettable was that Ken himself was in the gallery that day. He spent a couple of hours with me, sharing the stories and backgrounds behind many of his pieces — the patience, the journeys, the split-second moments that led to each image. His passion for his art and for the natural world is completely genuine and utterly infectious; you can feel it in every photograph on the walls.
What makes Ken Hoehn's work so special is the way he captures raw, intimate moments in the natural world with extraordinary clarity and emotion. See Love Dancing in the Light is exactly what the title promises — luminous, joyful, and almost spiritual. Wonder stopped me in my tracks the moment I saw it; especially as it's strategically placed in perfect view as you walk in the door! There's a quiet magic in it that's hard to put into words. And A Family in the Woods has a warmth, joy and tenderness that makes it impossible not to smile every time I walk pass it.
The prints themselves are produced on fine art aluminum and the quality is outstanding — the colour, the depth, the detail - just pop! They have to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. No screen does them justice.
The gallery experience felt personal and unhurried, never pushy, and they were happy to talk through the stories behind each piece.
If you're in Canmore/Banff area, this is a must-visit. I only wish I had a bigger house!
