Durga Female Trekking Guide的点评
点评：After helping a friend with the making of the documentary about Durga, we were anxious to meet her and trek for a few days in Nepal. Unfortunately, Durga needed back surgery just before our trek, but she still took good care of us and hired Swastika as our guide and Apsara as our porter. These two young women were amazing! We had chosen the shortest trek option as we just wanted a taste of trekking in the Himalayas during our last week of a five week trip to Asia. We are so glad we did, because we still got to see the amazing mountain views and explore traditional Nepalese villages, without having to climb more than about 1100 feet the first day and 500 the second. Unfortunately my husband came down with a high fever and didn’t have the energy to continue trekking the last day, but Durga took good care of us and arranged for a car to pick us up in Astam. Swastika had meds to help with the fever and was very helpful throughout our trek. Apsara kindly carried his heavy pack the second day when he first got the fever, after carrying my smaller one the first day. Maybe in our younger days, we would have challenged ourselves to climb to higher viewpoints, but especially with the unexpected illness, we are grateful to have chosen this short trek, and so happy with the kind, friendly and very knowledgeable Swastika! Also, the tea houses were actually very clean and comfortable hotels with clean sheets and bedding, private bathrooms, showers, WiFi, electricity, great food and bottled water! They were run by very kind local people. Much nicer than expected in Dhampus and Astam! A great taste of Nepal’s wild places!
