点评：An unforgettable experience! From the first contact with Top Desert, Safae was quick to answer my queries while we planned our family trip to Erg Chigaga with two children, aged 10 and 13.
Our guide Jamal was the most patient, kind, calm and knowledgeable man. Pick-up was easy and close to our Riad, even though we had mistakenly gone to the wrong location! Jamal’s professional efficiency remained throughout the journey, with everything being arranged for us seamlessly. His local knowledge of the landscape and Berber culture was fascinating, and his stories made the long journey pass quickly. We always felt that we were in safe hands as Jamal skilfully navigated this incredibly diverse landscape.
Stops along the way included scenic viewpoints, visits to places of cultural interest, and local co-operatives for Argan oil, pottery and carpets. It’s a long journey but our vehicle was very comfortable. Lunch stops were all very good, our favourite being the tagine from a small roadside café in the High Atlas mountains.
The accommodation was superb on both nights with delicious meals and the warmest of welcomes. The trip highlight was the beautiful desert camp and sunset camel ride into the dunes. We opted for the standard camp which far exceeded all expectations. We certainly weren’t expecting to find an en suite toilet and shower in our tent, so this was a lovely surprise. The level of service at the Berber camp made us feel honoured to be there.
At every stop, we felt humbled by the kindness and warmth of the people that we met.
If you are seeking an authentic experience with a knowledgeable, friendly and local guide then I would definitely recommend Top Desert.
