点评:The Wall of Tears is a remnant of the penal colony that was located on Isabella between 1946- 1959. It is a reminder of the cruel conditions that existed as criminals, many who were imprisoned for minor offenses, were worked for hours in the hot sun building this stone wall that served no purpose other than to inflict pain and suffering on those imprisoned here. Much of the wall remains and it is the only thing left standing from the penal colony. It is located at the end of a dirt trail 5km west of Puerto Villamil. It can best be reached by renting bikes in town and making the ride here. This is a much better option than trying to walk. Although the Wall of Tears is of historical significance and interesting to see, the highlight of biking here was seeing several giant tortoises in their natural habitat along the trail which is nicknamed the "Camino de Tortugas Gigantes". There is also an observation point along the trail that can be reached by climbing several flights of wooden steps and is known as Mirador Cerro Orchillla. From here there are great views although the way back to Puerto Villamil and the coast.
