One-day birdwatching hike up to the Bamboo zone

点评：Just back from a one day hike ($35 park entrance + $45 birdwatching guiding) up to Sine Hut (~2600mm) from Kilembe (~1700m), with a further one-hour push to the start of the bamboo zone (~3000m), entirely dedicated to birdwatching. My guide Musabe was brilliant: sharp ears, and great knowledge of the birds' sounds and their likely territories along the trail.
It was quite a demanding hike, we started at 7:30am at the park's gate and reached the hostel back at 18:30pm, with some steep gradient along the way.
We saw a lot of birds, including : Handsome Francolin, Black-billed Turaco, Archer's Robin-chat, Abyssinian Thrush, Mountain Yellow-Warbler, Evergreen Forest Warbler, Red-faced Woodland Warbler, Chubb's Cisticola, Banded Prinia, Rwenzori Apalis, Rwenzori Batis, White-tailed Crested-Flycatcher, Rwenzori Hill Babbler, Stripe-breasted Tit, Regal Sunbird, Albertine Boubou, Slender-billed and Sharpe's Starlings, Strange Weaver and Dusky Crimsonwing.
Heartily recommended if you want to see the birds of the Ruwenzoris!
