An incredible Cathedral - it left me speechless!

点评：If you happen to be in Blackburn and have some time to spare then you absolutely must visit the Cathedral - whether you are someone of faith, or not - because the inside space is incredible.
We arrived by train, and spent 2 hours in this place. Walking in through the West Door, our breath was taken away by the height, the light, the beauty of the interior, the stained glass, the sculptures, the quiet spaces.
We were speechless.
We were filled with wonder and awe at the building's magnificence - inside and out.
This is a Cathedral that cares deeply about everyone in Blackburn and the diocese. This is a Cathedral which cares about everyone who enters its doors. This is a Cathedral that leaves the visitor refreshed, full of joy and revitalises the soul.
I'll be honest, I now think Blackburn Cathedral is my favourite Cathedral of all time...eclipsing my all time 4 of Durham, Gloucester, Truro and Coventry.
The inside space here is beautiful, the hospitality in the Checks and Grey's café very good. The prices there are realistic and the staff are lovely.
In this Cathedral, it is free to enter. Donations are welcomed, but not pushed.
There is some merchandise downstairs in the café, a very understated and nicely curated collection of things at very reasonable prices. There's no gift shop as such.
So to sum up...passing through Blackburn? Make time to stop and visit this place. It is incredible. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
