The scenery is vast and humbling — deep escarpments, rolling highlands, and an almost surreal sense of scale that photos don’t fully capture.
We encountered large groups of gelada baboons at close range, completely undisturbed and moving naturally through the terrain. It felt like observing life as it has existed here for centuries, rather than being “shown” wildlife.
