Gillyflower Golf的点评
点评：Our 9 hole visit to Gillyflower Golf today was lovely.
After making the initial booking we exchanged emails with Joe (director of golf) to sort out a buggy or trollies. Having had some rain Joe sorted out trollies for us.
The course itself is 9 holes from the old Lostwithiel Golf Club. I’d never played that course so don’t know if the course layout is exact or altered. All I can say is we played the front 9 holes called the long course. Here’s the thing: most 9 hole courses have be played offer 18 holes by having 2 sets of tees literally separated by a few yards… not Gillyflower. The tees are literally in totally different positions and some are a long way different, so appears to play as very different holes. Very cleverly done.
Few things to beware of:
1. No clubhouse
2. Booking is online or phone.
3. There’s a van on 1st hole where you get scorecards but the van is about 200 yards walk to the first tee, a walk up the fairway sure you in hitting range from the first tee, so take care!!
4. The morning we went the van wasn’t manned (Saturday morning), there were local road closures and diversions so we arrived late. Tried calling gillyflower but all options (press 1, press 2 etc) didn’t work.
Some memorable holes and lovely scenery. Some fairways are narrow and the rough in places is brutal.
We paid £26 for 2 players, 9 holes… bargain.
