点评：A beautiful church perched high on the rock overlooking Petra. Numerous steps to climb (114), which don’t look that safe, so care is needed and take your time but it wasn’t too bad, hand rail is very useful.
Panagia Glykofilousa (Virgin Mary Sweet Kissing) Church is one of the most significant religious monuments of Lesvos and the landmark of Petra. It is located on a giant monolith and reached via 114 rock-hewn steps. There are many myths and stories of miracles related to the church’s construction and the finding of Virgin Mary’s Holy Icon and one of these stories as to how the church came about is detailed on the village train which travels between Anaxos and Molyvos.
Worth it when you get to the top for the views alone and the church is lovely.
