点评:The staff in the visitors centre were very helpful, especially the Welsh lady working on the 17/5/26. She encouraged us to go for the walk to Twyn y Gaer. I must admit I wondered if the last ascent to the viewpoint might kill my 78 year old partner, but with some sips of water, two hiking poles, and gritted determination he made it! I think a bench or two halfway up could be helpful. There were some rocks but they were a bit low for our rickety knees. The view from the top was worth it, and absolutely beautiful. We just made it back to the visitors centre before the rain took hold. The gift shop has some beautiful items in it. We were told that many of the items were made by local crafts people. We had cawl (a Welsh stew) in the cafe, it was packed with delicious lamb and plenty of vegetables. Just what we needed after our walk. We thoroughly enjoyed it. So pleased that they did fresh white or granary bread and Welsh butter to go with it. I cannot eat granary or seeded bread and find it very difficult when out and about to be served white bread nowadays. The butter was so tasty. We also had the Welsh tea, which we both enjoyed. Toilet facilities at the visitor centre were good too. Had a fantastic visit, and the day will stay in our memories forever.
