点评:Thursday 16th October we walked along Calçadão de Carvoeiro, the wooden coastal pathway which led us to these amazing caves.
The path started by the clifftop Church, Chapel of Our Lady of the Incarnation and stretched along the coast for 600 metres up to this natural phenomenon.
From the pathway we made our way down onto the limestone cliffs and Algar Seco has a translation of "Dry Cave". This is stunning natural phenomenon, a collection of caves, tunnels, blowholes, passageways and natural pools.
They have been carved by nature over millions of years with erosion by the elements.
We entered into a maze of pathways, clambered over rocks, crawled through tunnels, went into caves climbed up and down stone steps.
From the clifftop we were slowly making our way down towards the rock formations by the turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
As we walked about here we were in constant amazement of how incredible this natural feature is. We were also treated to some magical and spectacular scenery along this wild and rugged coastal landscape.
Would definitely recommend wearing robust foot, the terrain was a bit uneven in places. In some places there were rope handrails to assist, not all of them were in the best shape.
There was even a bar locate in amongst the cliffs and rock formations.
Another less strenuous way to see the cliffs is by taking a boat trip around the coast. It would be spectacular but would not have the same impact has physically walking around Algar Seco.
(Chapel of Our Lady of the Incarnation),沿着海岸线延伸600米,最终到达这处自然奇观。
