Very dissapointed. Not worth your money.

点评："Villa Mermaid," or rather "ruin Mermaid," is an unfinished cement block on the north coast of Bali. With perhaps the ugliest beach in all of Indonesia within walking distance and a murky pool filled with dead creatures, you can find some relief from the heat. Unfortunately, these are the only recreational activities at this establishment.
Fortunately, Villa Mermaid also offers a taxi service. While you might pay a premium for it, you'll have a very unique experience. For example, you'll get to see how purchases for a business like this are made because you'll be taken to various markets and shops, although there is little time to explore on your own.
The food served was quite enjoyable at the beginning, but after a few days, it started to become repetitive due to the frequent use of the same ingredients. The cook seemed to put in less and less effort each day, especially at breakfast. It's definitely not worth the price they charge. The menu did not give off a luxurious vibe.
Drinks were expensive and lacked variety. Even by Dutch standards, it was not pleasant, let alone for Balinese.
The sleeping facilities were okay if you don't mind a mattress on the floor. They were very strict about providing clean bedding. There wasn't much storage space, because the only closet in the room was still filled with clothes from the owner. Resulting in a cluttered room and living out of a suitcase. Trash in the room stayed for a week, and we had to request toilet paper. I expected more luxury for the price.
Wi-Fi was available, but it was painfully slow. A simple Google search for essential activities took an unpleasantly long time. At one point, the internet even ran out, and we couldn't do anything.
In conclusion, none of the facilities, location, service, ambiance, food, or drinks justified the price. None of these aspects reflected the luxury that Mermaid tries to sell you, even though you pay for it. With all the beautiful places Bali has to offer, this Setlement doesn't add anything worth the travel. I don't recommended this place at all, as it's not worth your money. Even if this ruin will turn out to be the most beautiful building in Bali (wich i highly doubt) AND you get a huge discount, you wil be very dissapointed! Do yourself a huge favor, and go anywhere else...
