A beautiful Cathedral definitely worth visiting

点评：This is a beautiful place to visit if you're a fan of churches and cathedrals. It doesn't take all that long to do the tour, give or take it's about an hour.
There's an interesting history that you can learn about through the free audio guide that explains the origin of how this church came to exist and further expanded to become suitable to become a cathedral as alicante grew from a town to a city.
The Central altar is grand especially with the secondary altar that you can see but cannot explore, giving it an air of mystery and wonder as you can spend plenty of time just taking the details in processing it multiple times seeing minor details you didn't notice at first.
Do make sure you're of good health if you wish to ascend the bell tower. It's many steps and while the view is incredible they are steep so do take care before deciding to go up.
The audio guide is a brilliant touch as it was informative and interesting to highlight where and when the church had expanded and the miracle that had took place.
It was also helpful to explain an artwork of the virgin mother Mary I'd never seen or at least never noticed before depicting her standing on the head of a dragon.
It's definitely worth a visit if you love religious buildings or as an indoor activity if you get caught in the rain
