点评：My family of 6 drove from our rental apartment in La Fortuna to Arenal Oasis Wildlife Refuge to take the 6am SLOTH TOUR. We were loaded onto a tour bus that left promptly with a total of 12 participants and our guide, Juan Rojas, for locations around La Fortuna. Juan showed us sloths at three different sites, but we spent most of the time at the last one, where we saw both 3-toed and 2-toed sloths, including a precious year-old one. We would never have seen the sloths or the bats or the parrots without his help! I appreciated Juan's voice: he presented information succinctly and completely. When he spoke, he didn't raise his voice, but we could hear him well. It seemed so appropriate to the early morning and our desire to see the wild animals. My husband was impressed by the depth and breadth of Juan's knowledge -- he identified birds in flight and by ear, and knew the geology and history of the land. When I made the booking, I requested that a chair be provided for my husband, who is recovering from back surgery and needed to sit at times during the tour. Our driver, Walter, carried the chair for us, which made the excursion possible for Dick. When we returned to the Arenal Oasis Wildlife Refuge Lodge, we discovered that the coffee we'd been promised was actually a full, "typica" Costa Rican breakfast with fresh fruit, rice and beans, plantains and an egg!
