点评：I visited Gran Gran's yesterday while waiting for the bus to the airport. Oh my! It's a delight. I loved walking about the shop looking at all the items for sale (I bought an apron with a huge cow face on it!) and drinking my coffee as it was raining outside.
I left with a halloumi, pistachio and honey tart, a chilli sausage roll and a lemon and date muffin. And a loaf of brown bread. All were just perfect, and so special as they were such unusual recipes. I have to say the muffin was so deliciously moist and flavoursome (I've a sweet tooth so I have to mention the cake in particular)!
When I arrived home it was too late to prepare anything much for supper (plane delays, train strikes at my end....) so I had two slices of the bread with butter. Oh, oh, oh!!! Proper bread. Melt in the mouth, wholesome, satisfying and so tasty.
Kilcolgan residents are blessed with having such a feast on their doorstep.
Oh, it's also a post office. Very handy!
