点评：Shume moved from being just a bottle shop in Cross Keys Mews to its present location, acquiring tables inside and outside at which to sample the beers, now also with a handful of draft taps. The range of canned beers is impressive, and these are augmented by a decent variety of bottles, together with wines and gins. The cool cabinet below the counter offers the best cheeses in the town, and there are other food treats to buy or sample. If you decide to stay and have a drink, the atmosphere is hugely civilised, especially in summer when the tables by Church Walk make one relax at once. Prices are quite steep but the drinks on offer are often special and rare. Shume includes an option to register and build up discounts on purchases. There is a single good WC for customers but this limited facility underlines a potential problem - even in summer the maximum capacity is probably fewer than 40 people. Shume deserves its good reputation but success may mean that sometimes there is simply insufficient space for one to sit down. The limited room does encourage table sharing and striking up impromptu conversations. Shume is also very dog friendly. In short, it’s hard to fault it!
