点评：I was a part of the April 2026 “Fellowship” tour group and I have nothing but positive things to say about Red Carpet Tours! It is an incredible trip for any fans of the Lord of the Rings films, and to be honest, even amongst the stunning natural beauty of New Zealand and the immersive fun of seeing “Middle-Earth”, one of the most memorable parts of the experience was the obvious genuine passion and care that tour guides Julie and Josh have. It is obvious that they are among the biggest fans present and they go above and beyond to make sure that the tour is spectacular. They are kind, fun, and extremely knowledgeable, and they ensure that everybody on the tour has a wonderful time!
A few tips for anybody looking to join for future tours! The helicopter tour from Nelson to the “South of Rivendell” filming location is advertised as being optional but highly recommended; I would rate that among the top, if not my absolute favourite, location we visited, so I really urge anybody making the trip to sign up for that. For anybody particularly adventurous, I would also recommend doing some research into other filming locations which are not on the Red Carpet tour, very understandably due to not being accessible by the tour bus or requiring a more strenuous hike than can be expected of a large tour group. Many of these can be accessed via Auckland or Queenstown before the beginning or after the end of the tour respectively, or else can easily be visited during “free time” along the way.
All in all, I would say that Red Carpet Tours is the absolute best way to get not only the full “Lord of the Rings” experience, but to also experience New Zealand and the fantastic beauty and culture of the country.
