点评：Dang was that a long, hot walk! Truely a once in a lifetime experience! I almost skipped it since it was so hot, but said to myself, "it's now or never!" The long winding staircase of 444 steps (each step is marked), brings you up the steep hill of the old town which is still very active with locals living and working in the many buildings and alleys along the way.
When I got to the summit, I discovered a small church and the lighthouse and stunning views of the city and harbor. The top is amazing, but it's all about the journey both up AND down...
These steps take you through the very colorful old neighborhoods with many side alleys and little shops and cafes along the way. The steps are broken into "sets" of @50 - 100 steps per section. At each " level" up the city views just get more interesting and expansive! Along the way, I found many little cafes, galleries, and shops to browse, but usually just settled for a strategically placed bench (in the shade) to catch my breath and drink water.
The steps wind through bright, vibrant neighborhoods with lots of colorful flowers and art displayed where people live and work. The steps are often in the blazing sun but also usually had railings which were very helpful. I will say, I was constantly seeking a shady respite. A hat and water are crucial! Plus, I took it slow with many stops and lots of pictures!
Though there are many touristy shops, the vendors were not at all aggressive - just low key and helpful. Definately a highlight of my trip! But my legs are still shaking! Lol

虽然有很多旅游纪念品商店，但摊贩们一点也不咄咄逼人——他们都很低调友好。这绝对是我这次旅行的一大亮点！不过我的腿现在还在发抖！哈哈
