点评:This Square is named after Johannes Gutenberg who lived in Strasbourg in the 1430s and 1440s and made key innovations that led to the invention of the printing press. There is a statue of Gutenberg at the centre of the square. The square is a popular photo spot and you can get some very nice photos of the Strasbourg Cathedral from here. One of the most popular (and sometimes crowded) spots is Rue Mercière which is line with souvenir shops and gives the best view of the facade of the cathedral.
The area has lots of shops and restaurants. The Rue du Maroquin is on the east side of the square and many restaurants in this area become highly decorate for Christmas. The square was included as a stop during a Christmas Market tour we booked on Christmas Eve and we would recommend doing a walking tour in this area of Strasbourg whether that is paid or self-guided.
