点评:...aka courthouse… as per title this was the courthouse in the Medieval era (until 1797) and was built over Roman constructions (were found in the 1990’s). There were paintings from Giotto that sadly went destroyed with the fire in 1420 but rebuilt and repainted as per Giotto style in 333 picture-framed depictions.
Tickets are sold across the square (Piazza delle Erbe) in the tourism office, do half flight of stairs to show the tickets then continue the same stairs to reach the hall.

1. The roof has the shape of an upside-down ship hull.
2. The 333 picture-framed frescoes are astrologically influenced because the depictions represent: 12 zodiac signs, 12 apostles, 12 labours of the months plus related constellations, planets, professions, many saints, animals and city related then personalities and various.
3 The hall in the Medieval times was divided in various sections like nowadays courtrooms; considering that most people were illiterate, in order for them to find the right courtroom for their case, they had to look for the animal painting above; for example, eagle is tax-related issues etc.
4. The stone of vituperation, where insolvent debtors were forced to sit three times, in underwear and declare “I give up my goods” then exiled… before, the debtors were given life sentences and it was Saint Anthony who suggested a more merciful way.
5. The giant “Troyan” horse was made in the late Medieval for a parade in 1466 by a local noble family and it arrived to the XIX century without head and tail so the body is original from that time.
