点评:The Ringstrasse is a 5.3 km circular grand boulevard that serves as a ring road around the historic city centre of Vienna. It was where the city walls once stood defending the inner city during the medieval age, but today, it is Vienna's 'buildings walk-of-fame' - a showcase collection of Vienna's monumental buildings and famous sights. The best way to experience what it has to offer is simply to walk. We walked the stretch from the State Opera House all the way to the Votivkirche Church, past the Hofburg Palace, the twin Art History and Natural History museums, Volksgarten, Rathaus (Town Hall), Austrian Parliament Building, Burgtheater and the University of Vienna. Strolling this 2 km stretch of the Ringstrasse easily covers more than half of what we set out to see in Vienna. Its recognition as part of the Historic Centre of Vienna's UNESCO World Heritage Site designation further underpins its importance. Surrounded by stunning architecture, cultural treasures and ample greenery, it is no wonder that some consider the Ringstrasse as one of the world's most beautiful boulevard, and I wouldn't disagree with this.
