Your via Ferrata trip can start from Campo Imperatore near l'Aquila. From there, everything is nature, very few tourists.
The via ferrata Bivouac Bafile is the most impressive since you will finish your route at 2669 on the top of a cliff, you can rest there, you can also sleep there at night on the 6 bunk beds, but check in advance if it is open. You will find yoursefl in a red caravan on the top of the mountain, amazing experience.
You have also other via ferrata routes in Gran Sasso, all of them in very good condition: Danesi (Corno Piccolo) , Ginepri / Brizio (Corno Grande), Ventricini (Corno Piccolo), ...
Be careful, prepare your water in advance, there are very few water points in Gran Sasso, check also the weather forecast since you can often get showers during summer.
