Short cable car ride with spectacular views

点评：Cable car which takes you to the top of Mt Ulriken. It doesn’t actually go from the city centre, you need to either take the pricey shuttle bus or get the metro for a couple of stops to Haukeland sjukehaus, the main hospital. Having done the latter, we then wished we’d done the shuttle bus as it’s quite a steep walk past the hospital to the cable car station. Very expensive, a return is about £34 and only takes about six minutes each way. You pay for the views from the top really which are absolutely stunning in all directions. We were lucky with a sunny day, if it was cloudy probably best avoided. There’s a cafe with indoor or outdoor seating and you can start various walks from here. Unfortunately on the way back down there was a problem with the sliding doors between the platform and the car which technicians were trying hard to fix; the car was already very crowded and we were going to wait for the next but were told the next one may be a long wait due to this issue and we were best squeezing in to this one, so we didn’t get much of a view going down.
