点评:My visit to Ulriken Taubaneselskap was the most disappointing part of my trip.
We paid £35 for a return ticket — and rode straight into thick fog. Zero visibility. No view at all. For a cable car clearly marketed as a tourist attraction in Bergen, that’s unacceptable.
The outside ticket office was closed, directing us to use the machine inside, and there wasn’t a single member of staff visible to advise on conditions. There were no warnings at the machine and none on the website. When I raised this, I was told they’d have to “change it constantly because the weather changes.” That’s not an excuse — if the weather completely removes the experience you’re charging for, you warn people.
To make it worse, the operator later said if I’d knocked on the closed window, he would have told me not to go up. If staff knew visibility was zero, tickets shouldn’t have been sold without clear warnings.
I fully understand locals may use it as transport and benefit from different pricing structures. But for tourists, this is marketed and priced as an attraction — and at £35 a ticket, transparency should be the bare minimum.
Overpriced, poorly handled, and dismissive. It’s left a real sour taste on my trip. I wouldn’t recommend it.
