A large museum, with a variety of all things science and technology to learn about
The Norwegian Museum of Science and Tehnology的点评
点评:The museum sits to the north of the city and is easily reachable from the city centre via tram which does not involve any changes (nearest tram stop is Kjelsas) the museum only being a 5-minute walk away. Likewise, right next door to the museum is the Kjelsas railway station with local services running to and from Oslo Central Station.
It's a large site and comprises of 4 floors mostly of which is themed around Technological development of industry through the years. On each floor there are sections devoted to different themes, such as the development of the music box through to the 'juke box' and later 'boom box', Oil and Gas, Clocks and Watches, How blood works, Sawmills and industry and electronic gaming and computers.
Much of the 2nd floor is devoted to transportation and its various types, with some objects near fully explorable. There are some interactives dotted throughout the museum, although this does not apply to everything. The interactive development of computer gaming section on the third floor was well executed however, with different trails selected on your input of interests via ipads. This could be done in Norwegian and English.
The basement floor has a large section for children to explore, learn and play in which was quite nice, together with toilets nearby which is good as the building is quite large. There was also a large space which was empty ahead of a new exhibition opening later this year (2024). There was plenty of lockers available to put personal belongings in, at no extra charge (staff give you a token for usage at the entrance). The shop had lots of science related children's toys with family games and activities. There was also a café on the ground floor with lots of seating and tables.
I spent about 3 hours here, although you could easily spend over 4 or an entire afternoon.
