点评:Very interesting and informative view of Norwegian culture, buildings and history provided by period- dressed “performers” and information boards written in Norwegian and English. Guide for the Stave Church tour was very engaging and knowledgeable and the boiled potatoes and butter provided free in one of the Telemark area cottages, by the friendly and personable host performer (sorry didn’t catch her name)was very tasty, and redolent of a historical era. At the time of the visit temperatures were below zero and there had been snow but footpaths were well gritted and welcoming open fires were lit in some houses. Good gift shop and cafe- restaurant. Note : closed on Mondays. Easy access by bus from the National Theatre stop on route 30. Return bus at closing time can get busy as service covers other museums and attractions in the Bygdøy area. Good for adults and interested children. Appeared OK for infirm/ disabled on pathways but beware older buildings have either stone-steps, and/or timber doorframes, requiring stepping over. If you have been, think a similar venture and ethos to the Beamish museum, without the old transport/trains and on a smaller footprint.
