点评:We came upon this park and statue quite by accident. It was our final evening in Reykjavik and flying home to the USA the next day. We needed transportation to the airport from our hotel on Laugavegur. The hotel booked the Flybus trip for us and told us where to get on the shuttle bus. It was a 5 minute walk to the shuttle bus stop. This is right where the statue of Ingofur Arnason is located (called the Arnarholl Statue on maps). He was the first permanent Norse settler in Iceland in the year 874. He chose the place to settle for his family and named it Reykjavik, literally meaning "the smoking bay".
This is a very nice park as well. It is situated on a high hill where you can observe much of the city center and even see the harbor from here. Seems a fitting place to have this statue. Take the time to see this, it is relatively quiet here and a good place to temporarily get away from the crowds on Laugavegur and take in the views.
