Avoid for sunset! Insane crowds ruin the experience

点评：This review is specifically for the sunset at Mount Lycabettus. My advice is: avoid!
Ok, the view is beautiful (even though I think the Acropolis is too far away and you can find better angles from other surrounding hills). The problem is the crowd. We went on a Sunday in April (so not peak high season) and arrived there one hour before sunset. When we saw the long line to buy tickets for the cable car (and then another for the ride itself) we should have just left, but by then we had walked all the way from Makrygianni to the station, so we decided to wait. But nothing prepared us for the insane crowd up there. Obviously there is nowhere to sit if you arrive that late, so you’ll end up standing crammed together for an hour, and unless you are very tall, you won't see a thing. Maybe if you go at another time of the day you’ll have better luck, but trying to catch the sunset there is an awful experience.
