点评:Beautiful grounds stone circle etc. The Manor House was decorated as a tv project some years ago, the Manor House was great fun to take the kids to, the kids could interact in every room, dressing up , sitting on beds chairs etc, grandchildren used to love to go to the games room to find the cat, the whole house was lavishly decorated was fun times, and one of the very few places for parents/kids to have a great times. Imagine my surprise upon visiting today, to find the rooms stripped back, empty rooms with coconut mats, and boards, that nobody was interested in, especially the kids. We asked the staff where everything had gone? But were told that the old Avebury manor was made up a number of years ago as a TV project, but National Trust didn’t think it was authentic, and the manor was flooded a couple of years ago, they have recently reopened to the public, but there is next to nothing in there. Charging £15.40 entrance for manor and garden . £7.70 museum fee for each adult, for the privilege to look at empty rooms. And do not understand how they have kept 2 rooms with the expensive peacock wallpaper the thousands of pounds the tv company paid for, that is in my opinion, not authentic for the period of Avebury manor being built.
