A TOTAL DECEPTION.......no quality, no thrill, no nothing

点评：This concert was supposed to be a tribute to the living legend Sonny Rollins. As we are huge fans of Sonny Rollins, love his music and attended 2 live concerts with him at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, we had high expectations to hear his music live at the Bimhuis performed by Dutch musicians. Strange enough the first set started with a duo, Van Gelder on sax with piano. We did not understand the connection between this boring music and Sonny Rollins. It lasted the complete first set, so we were warned and sceptical about the main course. The only purpose that can explain the first set is that the 2 guys are releasing a cd soon. My opinion is that the Music Director/programmer should not allow this low quality performance in the great and famous Bimhuis setting. Now the second set............another deception!! A very young trio without any carisma played without any inspiration some obscure songs, we kept on waiting for the BEEF, but it never came. Amateur level, boring, no quality!! We never had the illusion , even not the feel that we were listening to the music of the great Sonny Rollins. We left disappointed before the end of the concert, too bad!!
