美术博物馆的点评
点评：In the Hauptbau there were lots of 15th century religious paintings (Holbein, etc), if that’s your thing, but then brightened up with Impressionists.
Everything was in 3 languages, which was great to get into the detail.
There were also lots of places to sit and admire the works.
Loved the top floor, which featured virtually every European artist of the last century; Mondrian, Dali, Picasso, Giacometti, Klee, all the Impressionists.
Stunning collections donated by rich Swiss.
We enjoyed beers in the courtyard before going to the Neubau over (or rather under) the road.
This was a boring disappointment for us.
No Pop Art, despite the shop selling postcards of Warhol’s Marilyn, Jasper Johns, Lichtenstein.
The special exhibition about ghosts was uninspiring.
But 5* for the main building. 25% off with BaselCard.
