As an interior designer, every project begins with listening—understanding how my client wants her home to feel and selecting partners who respect that vision. After exploring several local galleries, I visited Gallery 202 in Franklin, TN, where we were able to see many types of art pieces and met artist/owner Kelly Harwood. A true gentleman and a natural collaborator, Kelly brought not only talent, but a thoughtful, client centered approach to the process.
Kelly was exceptionally easy to work with. He listened carefully, offered insightful suggestions, and demonstrated a keen understanding of both styling and scale. Most importantly, when it came time to commission the piece, he created an experience that felt comfortable and unpressured. My client never felt obligated or rushed; instead, she felt supported and confident in her decision. Kelly made it clear that her satisfaction was the priority—so much so that he genuinely believed the piece would find the right home if it wasn’t hers. In that moment, any pressure often associated with custom work simply disappeared.
While architectural elements provide structure, it’s the art—the jewelry of the home—that completes the story. Kelly’s work does exactly that. Each piece feels intentional, perfectly proportioned, and seamlessly integrated into the design. The result is a space that feels finished, welcoming, and deeply personal—art that doesn’t just occupy a room, but elevates it.
