点评:There are a fair number of Almshouses that you will pass by while exploring the streets of Bruges including Godshuis de Vos which is situated along Noordstraat south of Walplein and east of Wijngaardplein where you find Begijnhof, the largest and most commonly visited of its kind in Bruges.
This charitable dwelling was constructed in 1713 and like most others continues to be a place of residency to this day. Unlike others, Godshuis de Vos is apparently not open for visitations. However, the outer wall that faces the street is only a metre tall so you can look into the tiny courtyard garden and see the handful of white coloured compound with uniform houses within. There is an expected small chapel with an unpainted brick facade in back facing the garden as well.
In the end, this is something nice to see if you are in the area and are interested in viewing some of Bruges' almshouses. Otherwise, if you are short on time in city, it is perfectly fine to just make way to Begijnhof just a couple minutes walk from this location. It is much larger, more interesting and gives you a better idea for how these type religious and charitable housing compounds came about in Bruges.
