Great site of historical importance but no toilet!
古代圣托里尼岛遗址的点评
点评：If you're visiting Santorini then Ancient Thira has to be on your list of places to see, not only is it of historical importance but the views from the site are spectacular. It is accessed either on foot or by a very narrow twisty road, our hire car was a Fiat 500 and I don't think I would have wanted to drive up in anything wider! There is only parking for a handful of vehicles at the top. My main reason for writing this review isn't to include details of the site from a historical perspective as these can be obtained from a good guidebook or the Internet but just for some top tips which I wished I'd researched prior to visiting.
The main thing for me is that there isn't a toilet, now I know it does sound ridiculous to expect one at an ancient site but I had made an assumption that something that attracts tourists would have a toilet, probably daft on my behalf but the guidebook didn't mention this and I omitted to check Tripadvisor! This meant that we had to curtail our visit and walk around the site quite quickly which was a shame as you could spend a couple of hours here exploring and enjoying the views. I have already mentioned the road and parking, in addition there is a little van selling drinks etc just outside of the entrance. Wear sensible shoes especially if walking to the site.
