Exceptional Art, Stunning Palace, and Hardly Any Crowds

点评：Don’t let the mixed reviews discourage you - this was one of the highlights of our time in Rome and is, in my opinion, one of the city’s true hidden gems.
If you appreciate art, history, or beautifully preserved historic interiors, plan to spend a couple hours here. The palace itself is magnificent, and each room is as impressive as the artwork it contains. The collection is exceptional, featuring masterpieces in an intimate setting that never felt overcrowded.
The audio guide is absolutely worth the extra cost and really adds to the experience. Rather than simply describing the artwork, it provides engaging insight into the Pamphilj family’s history, their influence on Rome, and how they were connected to other powerful noble families and landmarks throughout the city. We found ourselves recognizing names and making connections during the rest of our trip, which added an extra layer of appreciation to many of Rome’s other sites.
My mom and I visited around 9:30-10:00 in mid-June, and there was no line at all. There were only a handful of other visitors, allowing us to enjoy the galleries at a leisurely pace without feeling rushed.
If you’re looking for an alternative to Rome’s busiest museums, don’t skip this one.
