Walking up to the Church above Olcio, in Mandello del Lario, on the border with Lierna on Lake Como, you are struck by the extraordinary resemblance between this landscape and the backgrounds of Leonardo da Vinci’s *The Last Supper*. They look identical!
The view from the Church above Olcio, with its thousand-year-old bell tower, appears to match the background of *The Last Supper*. In his writings, Leonardo described several places in the Lake Como area, including the famous Fiumelatte near Varenna and the Acqua Bianca Cave near the church.
