点评:This was very different than I was expecting. it is certainly not rows of cases and posters about the chronological history of the Red Cross but a very modern curation that focuses on three aspects of the organisations humanitarian work; Defending human dignity, Resoring family links, Reducing natural risks. The latter is a large 'game' which I didn't really understand how it worked but the other two areas were very interesting and poignant with interactive exhibits. I got a huge amount out of it and experienced a range of emotions from what was displayed, but at a busier time it would have been difficult to fully engage with the exhibits. As I was leaving a school party arrived and I was glad I had gone through before them.
Sadly some of the hi tech exhibits didn't work properly and the audio guide was easily disturbed by putting it too close to the ear which took some time for me to work out was the reason. There was an area about data safety which had a series of takeaway cards about how to use data safely, but they hadn't been stocked up so only a few were available and I could only get one of the screens with a kind of quiz to work and then didn't understand if my choices were correct or not
There is a small gift shop but like everything in Geneva the items are expensive, and a very clean cafe with a range of food and drinks (no decaf coffee or tea but hot ginger made from fresh ginger was available £6).
There is an entrance fee which was CHF 10 for Seniors + CHF2 for the audio guide which was reasonable for the time I spent there and would have been more so if things had worked, and poor value if the museum was crowded.
I got alot from this visit despite the criticisims but its 'less is more' appraoch might not appeal to some.
