宁芬堡宫的点评
点评：I visited Nymphenburg Palace whilst visiting Munich for a couple of days in the summer. This palace is highly recommended on many forums so I decided to make the journey to visit it.
As you walk up to the palace, the whole place looks magnificent. Although there is a charge to enter the palace itself (which I'll get to later), the grounds (which are very expansive) are free of charge and are open well into the evening. I really enjoyed wandering through the grounds and, considering the outside temperature was 35°C on the day of visiting, this made for a really lovely stroll.
The interior of the palace also does not disappoint. Its period, Baroque features are hard to ignore and knowing that this used to be the residence of Kings adds to the ambiance.
My only comment would be the ticket price for entering is not cheap. Whilst the 20€ might sound reasonable, keep in mind that you're not paying for the grounds with this charge as these are free. The actual part of the palace which is open to the public, despite its grandeur, I got round in about half an hour (maybe a touch more), which you may want to bear in mind when visiting.
Also (and this is not the fault of the palace) - the location of this place is slightly awkward. The best way of getting there is by using Rotkreuzplatz U-Bahn station, then getting tram route 17 to its terminus, then from there it's a 10 minute walk. If you're unfamiliar with Munich's system of public transport, you may wish to build in additional time to your journey or consider getting a taxi.
Overall, I would still recommend this to be one of your stops if you are visiting Munich, despite the fact it's not the most central attraction in the city. It's an iconic building and definitely worth a visit!
