点评:Much more so than many similarly old sites in Italy, for me this gave a feeling of going back in time several centuries. It's partly because it's set in the countryside with not too many evidences of modern life, and perhaps partly because it's not overly crowded.
Entry was free, although you have to pay for parking. The audio guide was seven Euros at time of writing - a very worthwhile investment, as it is really excellent, giving a great introduction to the history, layout, and architecture of the Abbazia. The person renting out the audio guides spoke very good English, by the way.
I also bought a few snacks at the attached shop. The grounds have a few benches, some in the shade, and were a nice site for a small picnic. Overall, including the small picnic, I was probably here for about two hours.
The area in general is very beautiful and worth touring by car, on the many narrow backroads that have little traffic.
