Family Trip Across Lalibela, Harar, and the Omo Valley

点评：Our family recently finished a twelve-day trip through Ethiopia organized by King Dawit Tours. The itinerary included Lalibela, Harar, and the Omo Valley, with domestic flights between the regions. Considering the distances, flying made the trip much easier and allowed us to experience very different parts of the country in a relatively short time.
Lalibela was probably the place that stayed with us the most. The rock-hewn churches are impressive to see in person, especially early in the morning when the light is soft and local worshippers are quietly moving through the passages. It didn’t feel like just a historical site but a place that is still very much part of everyday life.
Harar had a completely different character. Walking through the narrow streets of the old city was one of our favorite things to do there. The houses are colorful and the markets are lively. One evening we also watched the traditional hyena feeding outside the city walls, which was unusual but interesting to witness.
The last part of our trip was in the Omo Valley. Visiting villages and local markets gave us a chance to see different cultures and traditions. What we enjoyed most was simply observing daily life and spending time in the markets where people from different communities gather.
Overall, the tour was well planned and gave our family a good introduction to several regions of Ethiopia. Traveling between destinations by flight made the journey more comfortable, and it allowed us to focus more on the experience rather than the long distances.
