Dogs 4 Wildlife的点评
点评：I recently returned home from one of the greatest experiences of my life.
I think I’ve been a fan of rhinoceros since I first learned the alphabet. I still remember the classroom poster with a rhino for the letter “R.” With two R’s in my name, it felt like an instant connection.
Two years ago, I stumbled upon Dogs 4 Wildlife — and that became another instant connection. Dogs and rhinos together? Are you kidding me? I only wish I had that vision 30 years ago.
I was fortunate enough to join their conservation program and travel halfway around the world to South Africa. There, we joined an incredible group from Wales who shared our passion for protecting these animals from poachers.
Dogs 4 Wildlife trains dogs to support anti-poaching efforts across several wildlife reserves in Africa. They are also deeply involved in local communities — assisting, educating, engaging, and raising conservation awareness so younger generations can understand the importance of protecting the wildlife in their own country.
Throughout the trip, I had countless moments of awe where I struggled to find the right words for what I was feeling and witnessing:
Giraffes approaching in waves from the distant treeline. A lion strutting less than 10 yards away, roaring as it passed. An elephant letting us know we were a little too close with a short charge. Numerous species gathering together at a watering hole, putting aside their differences for a moment to escape the hot sun and quench their thirst.
