Bicycle trip Sarajevo to Dubrovnik

点评：I did the bicycle tour from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik in September 2025. Green Visions organized all the accommodation, GPS tracks, breakfasts, lunches, some dinners during the trip. I had so many queries via email, but Samer responded to all of them really fast and being very helpful and accommodating to all my wishes and questions.
The trip is amazing! It takes you through one of the most beautiful parts of Europe, through mountains and unique towns and places. I was worried about the toughness of the stages, especially the first one, but all was fine. I didn't have an optimal preparation due to my country being completely flat without uphill gravel roads, but managed quite well. The first stage was long and challenging at parts, but the ascend to the Igman mountain isn't very hard given the slope of just 5-6% that you do not really feel when it is gravel. The hardest parts were in Stage 3, the climb after Boracko Jezero, that has some very bad gravel in some sections where I had to push my bike, and the first part of the Ciro trail with the tunnels, that I ended up skipping due to my bike not being the best for hard gravel roads. I did everything using my own trekking bikes with 15kg of luggage on my rear carrier, but I recommend using a mountainbike for those harder parts if you can. If not, you'll be fine on a trekking bike too minus the before-mentioned parts.
The guesthouses and hotels were excellent, with excellent breakfasts and friendly hosts. I wish there were more similar trips out there, I'd probably do them all. If anyone considers doing this trip, please give Sarajevo some time as well, it is one of the most beautiful and warm places on earth!
