An Immersive Night with Norfolk's Ghosts

点评：The Sound & Light Show by Pinetree Tours was the perfect way to start our trip to Norfolk Island. We did it on our first night, and it turned out to be a fantastic introduction to the island's convict history — the kind of context that makes everything you see afterward click into place.
Experiencing the Kingston ruins at night, with theatrical lighting, costumed actors, and a scripted narrative, brought the setting to life in a way a daytime visit never could. The New Military Barracks and the old Royal Engineer Office felt genuinely haunting under the lights, and the reenactments added real weight to what is, honestly, a brutal history — this was a grim place to be sent.
Special shout-out to the young actors playing the soldiers. It was great seeing local teenagers learning a craft tied directly to their own ancestry and the history of the place they call home — that generational connection added something a typical tour guide couldn't.
Our "ghost" guide who boarded the bus did an outstanding job narrating the whole way through — engaging, atmospheric, and clearly passionate about the material. Highly recommend this as a first-night activity for anyone visiting Norfolk Island.
