点评:We are both ex military and visiting the war cemeteries and museums never fails to humble. Hill 60 is a small but popular museum that allows you to step back in time and view exhibits from The Great War.
What sets this apart is the preservation of the trenches and the ability to walk through to capture some essence of the horrors of war. Thr spaces are so confined with little respite from the weather that made them tantamount to mud baths. The reinforced walls would offer little protection from the elements or the enemy and you cannot fail to be moved by the terror these poor men must have felt.
This site is easily accessible by bike. We traveled from Menin Gate and took in a number of museums in a day.
The coffee shop is well stocked serving hot and cold drinks and a decent selection of food.
An absolute must if you want to see the trenches first hand.
