点评：⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Brilliant Hidden Gem!
We had such a fantastic visit to the Transport Heritage Centre in Cumnock and we cannot recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. We were lucky enough to meet Jim, the owner, who is such a lovely, friendly gentleman with a real passion for history and preservation.
The highlight for us was the amazing mock-up police station – it is absolutely incredible and filled to the brim with fascinating memorabilia. Every corner is packed with items that tell such interesting stories, and you can tell everything has been curated with great care and attention to detail.
We were first shown around by a retired police officer, who gave us a truly superb insight into the exhibits. His knowledge was outstanding; having served himself, he had such personal stories and details to share, answering every question we had and explaining the history so clearly. After that, Jet gave us the rest of the tour, and was absolutely wonderful too – friendly, enthusiastic and incredibly knowledgeable about every item on display. Between them, they made the whole experience come alive, and we learned so much during our 2 hour visit!
What makes this place even more special is that entry is completely free – it runs entirely on donations. It is such a valuable place for the community and anyone interested in transport or local history, and it definitely deserves all the support it can get.
If you are in the area, do not miss this place! We left feeling happy and inspired. Thank you Jim and the whole team for a brilliant day out – we will definitely be back!
