Talley Woodlands的点评
点评：Please be aware that the shorter yellow and blue marked paths are not currently passable (without extreme difficulty). The fallen trees make the routes increasingly tough, with access (and visibility of) to the path becoming impossible just before reaching the viewpoint.
We eventually managed to download OS maps, climb over a broken stock fence and beat our way through chin high bracken to rejoin the path for an easy stroll back down to the car park, narrowly avoiding divorce or worse.
I definitely can't recommend this route in it's current state, especially with a 5 year old and a (very fit and agile) 73 year old, though I do believe NRW are aiming to reinstate access in the next 3 years or so.
There is an illegible sign on the notice board (due to moisture ingress) which I think may once have made potential hikers aware of the situation. I have also retrospectively seen a notice on NRWs website explaining the situation, however as I did not find the walk via the NRW website, this was not of great help to me. In future I will check the website for status reports of any NRW sites I may wish to visit, prior to my arrival.
I DO thoroughly recommend Y Llew Du (the black lion) at Abergorlech for post exertion drinks and food, however. Maybe just ditch the walk and head straight to the pub (I believe the forest walks in Abergorlech are experiencing similar problems - blame storm Daragh).
